Monday morning, July 18 at 4:00 UTC, Tridens leaves Sunderland Harbour and sails to the starting point of the next transect at 55.24N-1.21W to start - after CTD 37 - east-south-east bound at 6:43 UTC. At 7:35 UTC we see small red shoals high above the bottom. Surely this must be sprat or young herring? No, the catch of haul 25 is whiting.

Om 13:18 UTC vissen we nog een keer op kleine schooltjes (trek 26). Dit keer bestaat de vangst uit 60% schelvis en 30% wijting. We vervolgen onze weg naar OZO. Om 16:24 UTC schijnen vijf flinke scholen (palen) onder het schip. We zijn al zo gewend aan schelvis en wijting, dat de vangst van trek 27 als een verassing komt: grote sprot (11.5-15.5cm).

At 13:18 UTC we fish again for small schools (haul 26). This time the catch consists of 60% haddock and 30% whiting. We continue our way to ESE. At 16:24 UTC, five sizable schools (pillars) appear beneath the ship. We are already so used to haddock and whiting that the catch of haul 27 comes as a surprise: large sprat (11.5-15.5cm).
